New telecommunication operators and expanding assistance to Gastastan

This press release is in reference to new telecommunication operators to offer mobile network, broadband and connectivity services in Byron. Assistance to Gastastan through Byrish telecom companies are also stated.

For almost 6 years, the Byrish telecommunications market has been monopolised by Cast and ProWeb Byron; with Cast dominating 64% of the market and Vitalunae's ProWeb holding 36%. The government's Department for Business & Trade has deemed this has deteroiated options for consumers, with poorer speed, coverage and pricing. Therefore, the government reopened the opportunity for new operators to be created, which had previously not been possible to maintain the current operators. In total, Byron will have 4 telecommunication operators: Cast, ProWeb BN, intercel and Satron.

Using government subsidies, intercel and Satron will offer lower cost plans and begin their network rollout across the country to incentivise consumers to switch. The intended result is for a competitive and high quality telecommunications market which benefits consumers. All operators (excluding ProWeb BN).

Satron and Cast are known to be looking at opening operations in Hillovia and Oakaya. Intercel is planning to open in Theopia.

Each company will independently release more information on their own terms.

Additionally, the Foreign Office has confirmed it has finalised a plan with Cast and the Wartime Government of Gastastan to setup telecommunication infrastructure for free in the area of Gastastan still retained and provide services for free to crucial services, or at a reduced cost for civilians. Gastastan is currently only connected via FTTP broadband and has had long, rolling broadband blackouts during the time of invasion. This will begin tomorrow (10/09/2025).
