In recent hours, Global Point approved the creation of Arstotzka - a new country in Aquilonia, neighbouring Isocalda. The PM's cabinet and ministers in The Lobby have released a statement in response.
The statement:
Following the news that Arstotzka has been formed, we felt a collective obligation to address a matter of issues. Arstotzka is the third country to join Isocalda and Byron in Aquilonia; which has remained one of the safest continents in the world.
Arstotzka's intentions appear intrusive and pose confrontation to the beliefs of the Byrish Government - rule of law, freedom, liberty and individuality. We are awaiting further details but are formally offering an ultimatum which involves Arstotzka implementing fundamental rights to ensure safety and essential services or face an embargo with select Byrish companies and sectors, this could extend to sanctions.
The ideology of Arstotzka's Government is extreme and is a circumstance we have dealt with in previous now-dissolved countries, Talvinia and Nightfurry namely. Arstotzka/Byrish relations cannot be formally addressed yet - we are waiting for the official intentions from their government, but we are determined to maintain neutrality if our ultimatum is met.
The Ministry of Defence have also formally expressed the Byrish Armed Forces' mission to protect Isocalda, but it will not patrol the border between the two countries. Byron continues to reserve the right to not engage in a conflict in the region if it is not in the interest is Isocaldan citizens or for any other reason.
It is not yet decided if Prime Minister Declan will hold a bilateral meeting with the Arstotzka leader.
Overall, our main objective is to serve the Byrish people and if we feel that this objective is not being met, we will take the necessary actions to handle our agreements in the region and how we interact with our partners.
We will also consult member nations in Global Point if we feel it is appropriate.
We believe in peace and diplomacy.
The Cabinet at The Lobby
H.M. Byron Government
